Never in my life have I met someone who laughs as much as Katie. In the year and some change that I got to live in the same city as Katie, I’ve witnessed countless oh-shoot-she-can’t-breathe-does-wheezing-count-as-breathing-because-she’s-laughing-so-hard-someone-make-sure-she’s-OK moments. Thankfully, she lives to tell the tale.
Before Katie went back to Texas, she reminded me that I needed to take her pictures. And i’m so glad I did because these are some of my favorites. I was ecstatic to get these shots of her because they are SO her, and the only thing missing is a sound clip so you could hear the amazingness that’s her laugh.
If you’ve read any of my blogs, you might remember Katie. She was actually our doula at Ezra’s birth. She was a FREAKIN’ champ. That birth was the first one she attended during her doula certification, and she was a superstar. If you live in the Dallas area and need a doula, hit her up. Seriously, you’re welcome!
Katie’s heart is about as pure as it gets. Just don’t wake her up loudly or abruptly (if you do that, she’ll probably punch you). She’ll take you at your best and your worst and will still see the gold in you. Also, of all the Texas we know, she might have the best accent. In love (and she knows this), we like saying things like Katie would. Dave is WAY better at this than I am, btw.
I gained a sister out of this girl, and i’m so beyond thankful. Our kids (well at least the one who can talk) calls her Auntie Kay-ee, and well…she was basically one of the first people Ezra met. We miss her so much…if only we could squish Dallas and Santa Barbara closer together…
Miss YOUR face, Kay-ee. <3
