Yikes, I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve been super MIA on the blog since we’ve been so busy with the holidays, work, and planning a move cross country! Man that sounds crazy weird to say that “out loud.”

We went on a little scouting trip to Texas (specifically, Dallas) in December, and we basically made the decision that we were going to move by the end of that trip (and if you know me at all, you know how MASSIVE this is–like miracle status big). I went into that trip with this dialogue between me and the Lord: “Ok, i’m a GO unless there’s a no.” Between you and me, the truth is I had this crazy gut feeling even before we went that we were going to move there. And there were no no’s. In fact, there was just so much grace and a feeling of lightness while we were there. There were open doors for work opportunities as well as friendships/community, which is beyond important to us.

If you follow me on Instagram, you would have seen this photo (and it was also this very photo that got some of your wheels turning with curiosity and suspicion that a move was on the horizon ;). You were right.):

We found a house (to rent) that we LOVE even though I haven’t seen it in person yet, and I cannot wait to have space for our kids and a home to decorate and organize (seriously, I got a new label maker in preparation for all the organizational goodness that’s going to take place…), to create in and make new memories in. We’ve been living with my family for almost six months…and although we’ve been so grateful to have time with them, I’m SO ready to have our own space–a place where we can host, dream, and grow in. Pictures to come! (Side story: there were 8 applications for the rental; we were the last ones to submit, but we got it. I can’t think about this for too long or else I’ll start crying again. God was alllllll over it.)

So this happened yesterday:

We put our life in a POD, and it’s currently en route to our almost home in Farmers Branch, Texas where we’ll be living a mile away from some of our best people **pinch me now**. Back to the PODS before I move on: Have you ever seen one in real life? It’s legit a transformer right before your eyes. Ezra’s mind was blown–so were Mine and Dave’s, haha.

So between now and this weekend, we’re tying up loose ends, making sure everything over there is ready for us, and giving as many hugs and saying as many “see you later’s” as possible (ugh, I’m going to be/have been a hot mess). Dave and our good friend Alex will be driving our cars starting on Sunday after church. The kids and I will be flying out on Wednesday; I’ve never flown alone with the kids, sooo that should be interesting

And just like that–in a matter of a few short weeks, a girl who’s never lived anywhere but Southern California is going to be a Dallas-ite (what the what?!). So if you’re at all curious what that’s going to look like for me and the fam, stay tuned. I’ll do my best to update our CA to TX adventure here on the blog!

P.s. Any secrets to flying successfully with two littles? #pleaseandthankyou

P.p.s. Come visit. There’s a guest room waiting for you.

P.p.p.s. I/we will be making occasional trips out to CA, so photo clients–we’ll still be making magic happen!
